Panic room installer · Kansas City.

IntegrateIT — the Platinum-tier Control4 dealer headquartered in Overland Park, KS — installs the integrated electronics + comms + surveillance + biometric access layer of panic rooms for Kansas City luxury residences.Coordinate with your architect + room-build contractor; we own the technology side. Independent emergency comms (duress to 911 + private security), biometric access control, integrated surveillance with off-site recording, independent network backbone, climate, concealed AV. NDA-required projects are normal. Phone: (913) 804-7575.

The integration layer (what we own)

  • Concealed entry. When the brief calls for a room that reads as a wall, we coordinate a hidden door built into cabinetry, shelving, or paneling, with flush design-matched finishes and motorized RFID, keypad, biometric, or mobile access. The room stays invisible until it is needed.
  • Backup power + hardened storage. Battery or generator backup so comms, surveillance, and access keep running through an outage, plus optional hardened storage for documents, valuables, or firearms.
  • Independent duress comms. Hardwired POTS + cellular backup + satellite optional. Connects to 911 dispatch + private security service of the owner\'s choice. INDEPENDENT of the main home network — keeps working if the rest of the house is compromised.
  • Biometric access control. Multi-factor: biometric + keypad + key fob. Per-resident permissions. Audit log.
  • Independent surveillance + off-site recording. Cameras + NVR on a network segment that survives main-network loss; recording mirrored off-site to a cloud or secondary location of owner\'s choice.
  • Climate + ventilation control. Independent HVAC zone for the room (so external HVAC compromise can\'t introduce contaminants).
  • Concealed AV for comfort during extended occupancy. The room is not a closet — extended occupancy means TV, audio, lighting that\'s actually pleasant.

Common questions

How much does a panic room cost in Kansas City?

A basic reinforced safe room (ballistic-rated walls, steel door, hardwired phone + comms) runs $28,000-$65,000 added to new construction. A fully-integrated panic room (Level III+ ballistic, biometric access, integrated surveillance + duress alerting + independent climate + concealed AV) runs $85,000-$195,000. Estate-tier installations with multi-zone biometric access + independent power can run $200,000+.

Is a panic room more about the room or the technology?

Both — and the technology side is where most installers fall short. The room build (ballistic walls, steel door, ventilation) is a specialty contractor scope. The integration side — duress button → 911 + private security dispatch, biometric access control, independent surveillance with off-site recording, independent network backbone, climate, AV — is what we bring. We coordinate with the room-build contractor; we own the integration.

Can the panic room integrate with my Control4 or Crestron system?

The duress panel + emergency comms are intentionally INDEPENDENT of your main automation system (the whole point is they keep working if the main system is compromised). The non-emergency comfort layer — AV, lighting, climate — can integrate with Control4 / Crestron via a secured isolation gateway. This is the architecture pattern we use; it preserves both the panic room's independence + the convenience of unified control during non-emergency use.

How long does a panic room install take?

New construction: 6-12 weeks coordinated with the architectural build. Retrofit into an existing home: 3-6 months (much harder — load-bearing wall changes, structural review). The integration scope (after the room is built) is typically 4-8 weeks regardless.

Can the room be concealed behind a hidden door?

Yes, and it is one of the most requested versions. The entrance is built into cabinetry, a bookshelf, or wall paneling with flush, design-matched finishes so it reads as part of the room. Access is motorized (RFID, keypad, biometric, or phone) or manual, and we coordinate it with your architect and millworker so the concealment survives daily use. A concealed entry pairs naturally with the hardened safe-room build and the independent duress electronics.
